If you're tired of the chocolates you've bought in stores or don't like complicated chocolate designs, now a British Choc Edge company has launched a 3D printer chocolate printer that lets you print your own candy at home. But don't expect to realize your sweet dreams in a very cheap way. The company's chocolate printers come in two models: the Choc Creator is priced at 2,888 pounds, or about $500, and the Choc Creator V2 is priced at 3,888 pounds, or about $100. The latter was just released in September this year.
All you need to do is upload the file to the 3D printer via USB, and the machine will start drawing the chocolate shape. The machine can create extremely complex designs, and many of the authoring models can be viewed on the company's website. According to the company's specifications, these two models of the printer can print lines as thin as a half millimeter, far more finely than any line made by artificial pipe technology. This is the first commercial 3D chocolate printer, but it will not be alone for too long. Both 3D Systems and ChocaByte show their own chocolate printers at the 2014 International Consumer Electronics Show.
