At the end of 2015, China West Power received orders for 28 UHV converter transformers from the ±800kV Shanghai Temple—Shandong, Ximeng-Taizhou UHV “two straight” projects of the State Grid. The “two straight” project is an important project that promotes the innovation and development of UHV DC transmission technology in China and even the world. It plays a significant role in the development of the UHV power grid and the global energy Internet.

Compared with the previous UHV DC project, the “Two Straight” project for the first time significantly increased the ±800 kV DC transmission capacity from 8 million kilowatts to 10 million kilowatts, and the grid-side voltage level increased from 750 kilovolts to 1,000 kilovolts. In order to ensure the quality and progress of UHV engineering products, China West Power's Xidian Electric Group, relying on years of technological innovation accumulation and scientific research and manufacturing teams, has drawn more than 70 technical and production backbones to Changzhou production bases, and is still working hard during the Spring Festival.
