In March 2014, China released its first "Technical Code for Green Tires" and began trials. The specification defines green tires, and at the same time puts forward the concept of green manufacturing in the whole process of green tire production and advocates green use.
In May 2014, in order to accelerate the industrialization of green tires, the China Rubber Industry Association established the “Green Tire Industrialization Promotion Committee†led by the leading tire enterprise, and established the “Green Tire Technical Support Center†to undertake the industrialization of green tires. In June 2014, the Department of Raw Materials of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Tire Labeling System Study" project with a "Letter on Entrusting the Development of a Tire Labeling System."
In August 2014, a working meeting was held in Beijing for the participation of all members of the Task Force of the "Tire Labeling System Study", the secretary-general of the relevant branches (professional committees), and major raw material manufacturers.
