Toyota Corolla failed due to engine failure or faced a massive recall

Geely Automobile reported that the National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently announced that it is conducting further safety investigations on Toyota Corolla models from 2005 to 2007.

NHTSA stated that it has received 1,101 complaints about 2005-2007 models of Corolla and Corolla Matrixes. According to the consumer's reaction, these vehicles have suddenly stopped the engine when they were driving at various speeds, and they could not restart. The survey involved 1.2 million vehicles.

In November 2009, NHTSA had conducted a preliminary investigation of the Toyota Corolla model.

According to industry analysis, this in-depth investigation by NHTSA is likely to trigger another large recall of Toyota Motor. Since November last year, Toyota Motor has recalled 11.2 million vehicles worldwide due to the sudden acceleration of vehicles.

In response to the report, Toyota spokesman Brian Lyons declined to say whether Toyota is already considering recalling the Corolla models. Lyons only said on the phone: "We will fully cooperate with NHTSA's investigation. The survey involved vehicles limited to the U.S. market."

Since its launch, Toyota Corolla has been popular with consumers and has always maintained the top ten position in the US car market.
