State-owned enterprise structure adjustment in equipment manufacturing industry will accelerate

Recently, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council issued the “Review of the Planning and Development Work in 2006 and the Key Work Ideas in 2007”. The "Planning Ideas" pointed out that on the basis of deepening research on the four business segments including equipment manufacturing industry last year, the SASAC will actively promote the strategic adjustment of the state-owned economy's layout and structure and optimize the layout of the state-owned economy.

The preliminary study of the “Outline” sub-sectors section puts forward the overall thinking. In the equipment manufacturing industry, the “Outline” proposes that one of the key tasks for this year is to promote the joint reorganization of equipment manufacturing enterprises. "Planning Ideas" said that in 2006, the SASAC selected four business segments to conduct in-depth research, and in 2007 it will further expand the scope of research. In order to enhance operability, SASAC intends to publish a mature one, and then select other business segments for further research. "Planning ideas" said that in 2006, the SASAC also studied and drafted the "Guidelines for Central Enterprise Layout and Structure Adjustment." At present, the "Guiding Opinions" has been submitted to the State Council. After the approval of the State Council, the SASAC documents will be issued to central enterprises.
