The working principle of the rotary drum Dryer mainly includes the following points:
Equipment Structure: The rotary drum dryer primarily consists of a heat source, a feeding machine, an inlet device, a rotary drum, a discharge machine, an induced draft fan, a discharge valve, and an electrical control cabinet. The drum body is slightly inclined, with adjustable rotation speed within a certain range.
Operating Principle: After wet materials are fed into one end of the dryer, they are evenly distributed and dispersed inside the drum under the agitation of uniformly arranged lifting boards. Simultaneously, hot air (either concurrent or countercurrent) passes through the drum, fully contacting the materials to accelerate the drying heat transfer and mass transfer processes. This causes the moisture in the materials to evaporate into steam, which is then carried away by the hot air, achieving the purpose of drying.
Material Movement: During the drying process, the materials, under the action of the inclined lifting boards and hot air, move in a controllable manner to the other end of the dryer, where they are discharged through a star-shaped discharge valve.
Adaptability: The equipment can use various types of lifting boards to accommodate different materials. It features a simple structure, reliable operation, easy maintenance, large production capacity, and can operate continuously.
Direction of Hot Air and Material Flow: Based on the flow direction between the hot air and the materials, the rotary drum dryer can be divided into concurrent and countercurrent types. In the concurrent type, the hot air flows in the same direction as the material movement; in the countercurrent type, the hot air flows in the opposite direction to the material movement. These two methods each have their advantages and disadvantages and are suitable for drying different types of materials.
