From January to September this year, the trade surplus of China's auto parts reached 7.64 billion U.S. dollars, and the surplus increased from the same period of last year. From January to September 2009, China's auto parts trade surplus was 5.97 billion U.S. dollars (exports totaled 17.54 billion U.S. dollars and imports totaled 11.57 billion U.S. dollars).
Among the eight types of auto parts used in the statistics of the China Automobile Association, there are four types - engine parts, brake system parts, electronic and electrical parts, and parts of the driving system - and there are trade surpluses, four types - the transmission system zero Components, Engines, Body Accessories, Steering Components - A trade deficit.
The biggest trade surplus is the components of the driving system. In January-September 2010, the export value of the components of the driving system was US$10.009 billion, the import value was US$933 million, and the trade surplus reached US$9.076 billion.
The second largest trade surplus is electronic and electrical components. From January to September this year, the export volume of electronic and electrical components was 5.168 billion U.S. dollars, the import volume was 1.198 billion U.S. dollars, and the trade surplus was 3.97 billion U.S. dollars.
The brake system components and engine components also had a trade surplus of 1.328 billion U.S. dollars and 48 million U.S. dollars respectively from January to September this year.
The biggest trade deficit is in the transmission components. From January to September 2010, the export volume of the transmission system components was 1.451 billion U.S. dollars, the import value was 6.081 billion U.S. dollars, and the trade deficit was 4.630 billion U.S. dollars.
The second largest trade deficit is the engine. From January to September this year, the engine export amounted to US$709 million, the import amount was US$1.929 billion, and the trade deficit reached US$1.22 billion.
Body parts and steering system components also had trade deficits of 5.4 billion U.S. dollars and 390 million U.S. dollars from January to September this year.
Monthly average trade surplus: This year is higher than last year. Except for engine parts and components in 2009, China's auto parts trade surplus reached 8.367 billion U.S. dollars and the monthly average trade surplus was 697 million U.S. dollars. Among them, the average monthly trade surplus in the first nine months of 2009 was 663 million U.S. dollars. The average monthly trade surplus in the first nine months of this year reached 849 million U.S. dollars, which is higher than last year's level.
Among the auto parts, there are seven categories of monthly average monthly trade surplus or deficit in the first nine months of this year, which is higher than last year's monthly average. For example, the average monthly trade surplus of the components of the driving system in the first nine months of this year was 1.008 billion U.S. dollars, surpassing the average monthly trade surplus of 765 million U.S. dollars last year. The average monthly trade deficit for transmission components in the first nine months of this year was 514 million U.S. dollars, surpassing the average monthly trade surplus of 3.6 billion U.S. dollars last year. Only the engine components' average monthly trade surplus ($5 million) in the first nine months of this year was less than the average monthly value ($15 million) last year. It is not difficult to see that the range of trade surpluses or deficits in various types of auto parts in China only increases with the increase in trade volume, and the nature of the trade deficits has not changed. China’s imports of driveline components are still significantly higher than exports, and parts of the driving system are still the mainstay of China’s auto parts exports.
