August luxury cars recalled over 150,000 cars in total

The recall of auto companies has been through the first half of 2013 and entered August. The two recalls so far have come from luxury car companies.

Jaguar Land Rover recalls 11,852 cars

Jaguar will recall 2013 Jaguar XF produced from July 24, 2012 to May 1, 2013 and 2013 Jaguar XJ produced from March 20, 2012 to May 2, 2013. A total of 3,196 vehicles (2,096 XFs and 1,100 XJs) were involved in mainland China. The joint in the above-mentioned intercooler assembly of the vehicle may be suddenly separated, causing the engine to turn off without warning, and it may cause a collision accident, which may present a safety hazard.

Land Rover will recall 2012~2013 Land Rover Freelander 2 and Range Rover Aurora produced from January 3, 2012 to June 25, 2013. In China, 8656 vehicles (8321 Freelander 2 and 335 Range Rover Aurora) were involved. The junction between the injector overflow rail inlet and the injector overflow return connector of the above vehicle may leak diesel.

BMW Brilliance recalls 140,000 5 Series

BMW Brilliance has filed a recall plan with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) on the basis of the "Regulations on the Management of Defective Automobile Products Recall" and decided to voluntarily recall August 24, 2009 to August 31, 2012 starting from September 23, 2013. A total of 143,215 5-series long-wheelbase vehicles were produced during the period.

Within the scope of this recall, the seals on the power supply line plugs of some vehicle electro-mechanical power steering gears (EPS) cannot match the diameter of the power supply line. In extreme cases, if the vehicle is driving past a surface with water, water may enter the inside of the plug, causing corrosion inside the plug. Corroded plugs will produce higher resistance, which will result in reduced steering assistance. At this time, the dashboard warning light will be on, and a warning message will appear on the center display screen. This poses a safety hazard.
