The national "863" high-tech project "Commercial Vehicle Hybrid Powertrain System" jointly completed by Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., Shanghai Jiaotong University, and Shanghai Haineng Automobile Electronics Co., Ltd. has successfully passed scientific and technological achievements appraisal in Nanning. The appraisal committee believes that this achievement is China's first commercial vehicle hybrid powertrain system that is independently developed and put into use in batches and that uses a single-axis parallel system, and its technical level has reached the leading domestic level.
At the appraisal meeting, prominent experts such as Wang Binggang, team leader of the national “863†plan energy conservation and new energy automobile major project supervision expert team, and Hou Fushen, deputy director of the national “863†plan energy conservation and new energy automobile major project office, carefully examined the relevant aspects of the project. Technical documents and data, heard the technical and work reports of the project completion units, examined parts of the commercial vehicle hybrid powertrain system, prototypes, and sample vehicles equipped with the powertrain, and questioned relevant technical issues.
On this basis, after full discussion, the appraisal committee concluded that: This achievement is the first independently-developed commercial vehicle hybrid powertrain system using a single-axis parallel system in China. It is a mechatronics design and its flexible connection. , SOC balance self-learning, manual gearbox intelligent shift control, clutch non-segregation shifting technology, high-efficiency energy recovery technology and other aspects are innovative, with independent intellectual property rights, and obtained four utility model patents. The system has been equipped with a number of passenger car factories in China. Five of the assembled vehicles have been registered in the National Automobile Product Announcement, and are listed in the list of recommended models of the national model cities. They have been put into the market in small quantities. According to tests conducted by the national testing agency, the fuel consumption per 100 kilometers of a 12-meter bus sample is 28.4L. The user report shows that the fuel-saving rate of running on the actual bus routes in the city exceeds 20%. As the key component of energy-saving and emission-reduction of new energy vehicles, the hybrid powertrain is currently the key technology for solving energy safety and environmental protection issues in China. The project began in early 2004. After extensive investigations and full demonstrations, it was determined that a single-axis, parallel-type strong hybrid technology plan was adopted. During this period, it experienced two major technical upgrades. It finally developed its own proprietary intellectual property rights, and its performance can be internationally advanced. The YCHPT hybrid system, which is comparable to the horizontal one, fills the domestic gap. In 2009, the project was listed as a national high-tech research and development program ("863" project) project subject and received national support.
The introduction of the Yuchai commercial vehicle hybrid powertrain system not only leads the domestic market in terms of technology, but also is about 10% cheaper than similar foreign-funded products in terms of price. After mass production, the price can also drop substantially, which will make it possible to realize the industrialization of domestic brands. It is of great significance to promote the development of a low-carbon economy and revitalize the national industry. It is understood that the Yuchai hybrid power system has been put on the market since April 2009, and has been matched with a number of OEMs including Chongqing Hengtong, Wuhan Yangtze River, Guangzhou Bus, Yutong, Zhongtong Bus, Suzhou Jinlong, Jianghuai Bus and Changchun Huaao. With a total of nearly 200 units, the mileage of bicycles is as high as nearly 100,000 kilometers, and the average energy saving rate of actual bus lines is 20%.
